Financieel resultaat
Aan het einde van het seizoen keerde de Premier League maar liefst 2,8 miljard euro uit, waarbij onder andere rekening werd gehouden met de sportieve resultaten en het aantal keer dat een ploeg live op tv te volgen was. Kampioen Chelsea mocht met 172 miljoen euro het grootste bedrag bijschrijven op de eigen rekening[1]. Sunderland ontving het minst van alle ploegen, toch kon de degradant nog altijd rekenen op ruim honderd miljoen. Nummer twee Tottenham Hotspur ontving net iets minder dan Manchester City en Liverpool. Het drietal clubs ontving elk een bedrag van zo'n 167 miljoen euro. In de Nederlandse Eredivisie hebben alle clubs 'slechts' 70,7 miljoen euro te verdelen.
