Iolaus menas is een vlinder uit de familie Lycaenidae. De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is voor het eerst voorgesteld door Hamilton Herbert Druce in een publicatie uit 1890.[1]
De soort komt voor in de savannes van Mali, Senegal, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Guinee, Ivoorkust, Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, Kameroen, Congo-Kinshasa, Zuid-Soedan, Ethiopië, Oeganda, Kenia en Tanzania.
Waardplanten
De rups leeft op planten van de familie Loranthaceae waaronder Tapinanthus bangwensis en soorten van het geslacht Loranthus.
