Pseudoscrancia africana is een vlinder van de familie Scranciidae. De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is voor het eerst voorgesteld als Maguza africana door William Jacob Holland in een publicatie uit 1893.
De soort komt voor in het Afrotropisch gebied waaronder Ivoorkust, Benin, Nigeria[1], Kameroen, Gabon, Congo-Kinshasa, Oeganda en Tanzania.
