Thacona smithi is een vlinder van de familie Scranciidae. De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is voor het eerst voorgesteld door Gyula M. László en Alexander Schintlmeister in een publicatie uit 2021.
De soort komt voor in Mozambique.
