Thacona punctifascia is een vlinder van de familie Scranciidae. De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is voor het eerst voorgesteld als Gargetta punctifascia door George Francis Hampson in een publicatie uit 1897.[1] De spanwijdte van het mannetje bedraagt 52 millimeter[1].
De soort komt voor in India (Assam, Meghalaya), China, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, de Filipijnen, Maleisië en Indonesië (Borneo, Java, Sumatra).
