Plesiothoa gigerium is een mosdiertjessoort uit de familie van de Hippothoidae.[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is, als Hippothoa gigerium, voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1977 door Ryland & Gordon.[2]
