Opanthribus tessellatus is een kever uit de familie van de boksnuitkevers (Anthribidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is voor het eerst voorgesteld als Anthribus tessellatus door Carl Henrik Boheman in een publicatie uit 1829.
De soort komt voor in Luxemburg, Duitsland, Frankrijk, Zwitserland, Oostenrijk, Spanje, Italië, Polen, Oekraïne, Tsjechië, Slowakije, Hongarije, Kroatië, Marokko, Tunesië, Siberië, China (Shaanxi, Hebei, Sichuan), Zuid-Korea en Japan.
