Europa Sports Park is een multifunctioneel stadion bij Europa Point in Gibraltar. Bij Europese voetbalwedstrijden wordt het stadion aangeduid als Europa Point Stadium.
Het complex wordt gebruikt door het Gibraltarees Rugbyteam, maar ook voor andere sporten zoals cricket, darts, gymnastiek en squash. Het stadion is ook het thuisstadion voor de vier rugbyclubs: Ibex Buccaneers, Rock Scorpions, Straits Sharks en Europa Stormers.
Geschiedenis
In februari 2014 presenteerde de Gibraltar Football Association plannen voor een multifunctioneel stadion.[2][3][4] De bond kreeg echter de mogelijkheid om het Victoriastadion aan te kopen, waardoor dit plan niet door ging.[5] De regering van Gibraltar ontwikkelde vervolgens eigen plannen voor een nieuw sportcomplex op de locatie van een voormalig cricketveld van het Ministerie van Defensie bij Europa Point.[5] Het nieuwe stadion werd in 2016 voltooid.[6][7]
In januari 2024 werden er nieuwe plannen gepresenteerd, dit keer om te voldoen aan de UEFA-eisen voor een stadion op niveau categorie 2, zodat er (internationale) wedstrijden kunnen plaatsvinden tijdens de renovatie van het Victoriastadion.[8] In mei 2024 verleende de UEFA toestemming om vanaf september 2024 interlands in het Europa Point Stadium te spelen.[9]
