Smithsonius striatus is een mosdiertjessoort uit de familie van de Tessaradomidae.[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is, als Diplonotos striatus, voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1930 door Ferdinand Canu en Ray Smith Bassler.[2]
