Caprichthys is een geslacht van straalvinnige vissen uit de familie van de doosvissen (Aracanidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van het geslacht werd in 1915 gepubliceerd door Alan Riverstone McCulloch en Edgar Ravenswood Waite.[2]
