Bagous buchanani is een kever uit de familie van de snuitkevers (Curculionidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is voor het eerst voorgesteld als Pnigodes buchanani door Vasco Myron Tanner in een publicatie uit 1943.[2] O'Brien en Wibmer plaatsten in 1982 deze soort in het geslacht Bagous.[3]
De soort komt voor in de Verenigde Staten.
