Anna Wierzbicka

Anna Wierzbicka, 10 maart 1938, is een taalkundige van Poolse origine, die vanaf 1973 tot aan haar emeritaat aan de Australian National University in Canberra heeft gewerkt. Ze is bekend door haar werk in de semantiek, de interculturele taalkunde en vooral door de natural semantic metalanguage, waarvan zij aan de basis heeft gestaan. Ze heeft in Polen twee keer een eredoctoraat ontvangen, van de Universiteit Marie Curie-Skłodowska in Lublin en van de Universiteit van Warschau.
